ABOUT MICHELE MITCHELL
Michele Mitchell Pastry Designs was established by Executive Pastry Chef Michele Mitchell in 2018. Following twenty years of success in a luxury hotel settings, she had reached all the goals set for herself and set her sights on entrepreneurship.
Chef Mitchell was born in Henderson, North Carolina, and raised in Bermuda, England and Prince Edward Island, Canada. She graduated from Johnson & Wales University in the field of Pastry Arts, also studying in France and Switzerland. She worked in Atlantic City casinos before moving on to the 1500-room Sheraton Washington Hotel in D.C. As Executive Pastry Chef, Chef Mitchell was challenged to prepare spectacular desserts for monthly U.S. Presidential visits to the hotel.
After joining the Hotel du Pont in 1998, she created displays of art using chocolate, sugar sculpture and other confections, utilizing her talents of airbrushing, stenciling and intricate gold painting. Her talents led to multiple appearances on the Food Network, as well as on CBS, and at the prestigious James Beard House in New York City.
